On average, from the time the client opens, it's taking 45 seconds to get a list of maps from which to choose. Upon choosing a map and clicking the "Run Match" button, it takes another 15 to 30 seconds to start a battle running. Often, it requires multiple clicks on the "Run Match" button, i.e., clicking it once causes the "Loading match... please wait a few seconds" to appear, then the message disappears, but the "No match loaded" status message continues to appear, and nothing happens, followed by possibly multiple more "Run Match" button clicks before a battle begins.
I'm running Win7Pro, starting the client via a batch file that first calls "gradlew build", then opens the client ( i.e., not running from an IDE ).
Several other frustrations with the client behavior:
1.) The client opens with the left panel showing the "Game" tab panel, so I need to first click the "Run Match" tab to open the panel required to start a match ( and go make a cup of coffee and hang out for awhile until the map selection opens ).The client should open with the RunMatch panel showing.
2.) Once a map is selected and the "Run Match" button is clicked, the "Run Match" tab continues to remain open. ( Assuming that the bug that requires multiple clicks of the "Run Match" button to get a match going can be fixed ), the preferred behavior would be that the "Game" tab reappears when the match begins.
Finally, the ultimate preference would be the availability of arguments to the "Battlecode Client.exe" to allow setting the map and players, so that the client opening in the "Game" tab panel and the match starting without any further selections required would be the default behavior.
But it's quite possible I haven't figured out yet where these preferences can be set? There doesn't seem to be an equivalent to the "bc.conf" configuration file that was present in the 2016 version.
Thanks for any help!
