Are you relying on any bc config settings/flags, control bits or debug functions in your code? All of which would be disabled and un-usable during the tournament, and potentially cause unexpected exceptions. (I would expect these to affect scrimmages in a similar way too, though, so maybe this is unlikely)
There was also a bug that it sounds like was fixed like imminently prior to the tournament regarding NaN Direction values being used by a team breaking the game engine unexpectedly (See this thread for limited discussion). It's possible your bot was somehow affected by this unexpectedly as well. It seems unlikely, but it's the only other thing I can think of that might have affected the tournament but not been an issue during the scrimmages.
